Sense of Humor

A sense of humor
about the petty tyranny, stupidity and unashamed arbitrariness
of your internal critic
is the single most effective weapon
an actor has to dispel the myth of its power.
The ability to laugh at one's critical self teaches an actor an invaluable lesson,
and that is, what is important within one's own mind.
Enormous amounts of energy are wasted by taking the critical faculty seriously.
This energy can be used for far more creative purposes.
It will also send a clear message to the child-within
that you are no longer kissing the ass of its enemies' harmful voices.
