Night and Day

When I sleep I take off my watch.
When I wake I strap it on.
When I sleep I take off my clothes.
When I wake I put them on.
When I sleep my eyes close.
When I wake my eyes open.
When I sleep an I opens and when I wake an I closes.
When I sleep what was below is above.
When I wake what is above is above below.

And o yes,

in my bathroom a long handled hair brush hangs on a hook.
At night, when I pee, I feel compelled,
as a child would for an adult’s hand,
to hold on to it.
During the day, I feel no such compulsion.
