Breath

No words in the head, silence, sensation
whispers fathomless within and without,
I’m a drop in ocean’s undulation,
a fleck of dust windblown here and about.

Surrender to breath’s sensual rhythm,
the sun and moon of inhale and exhale.
Taste essence of the real through prism
of a life simple, beyond the breath pale.

Interval in midst of breath is moment
brief, where to feign death by a breath abstain
is congenital tipping point lucent
into insight words never can explain.

Breath, the fiery bellows from where Time’s
death is burnished into moment sublime.
