childhood cling to parents and sibling bond,
teenage sex and strict peer pressure guidance,
adult and all, culture to ape and fawn.

The gift to mirror, to take in what’s out,
incorporate through sight, without insight,
a persona complete riddled with doubt,
is curse blind integration does incite.

But this core of talent for metaphor -
greatest invention after wheel and fire -
is the ingenious skill to have rapport,
and thus our inner life we can rewire.
